About Flint: the AI-native website platform for fast-growing companies
Flint is solving the CMO’s most boring problem: maintaining their digital customer experience. Our intelligent system helps create brand-compliant websites, run continuous A/B tests, deliver personalized content, and launch high-performing campaigns—without requiring agencies or consultants.
Unlike most founding engineering roles, this is a unique chance to work with someone who has been in your shoes - our founder was previously the first engineer at Warp.dev. She understands what it takes to build a successful career as a first engineer, whether you want to develop your technical expertise or gain the skills to become a founder.
Our mission is to empower anyone with a great product or service to reach their audiences. We are a design-forward company deeply committed to understanding our users. We believe our success will come from excellence in both design and engineering.
The Opportunity
Managing digital presence and website maintenance poses major challenges for founders and CMOs. Traditional low-code platforms like Webflow haven't solved the problem—companies still need to hire external Webflow specialists, which slows down growth initiatives. Marketing teams also struggle with fragmented operations across various tools. Flint solves these issues by using AI to simplify website management. Through natural language commands and multimodal AI, we turn complex multi-team processes into streamlined single-person workflows. This enables powerful features like hyper-personalization and automated landing page creation.
As a design engineer, you will be essential to the 0-to-1 phase of a startup. You will…
Build and maintain the core frontend application using Next.js and Tailwind CSS
Lead the full frontend development lifecycle—from implementing UI components to optimizing performance
Lead technical discussions on implementing design systems and component libraries in Flint website templates. You'll play a crucial role in developing AI-powered methods to extract design systems from existing websites.
Work closely with the CEO to develop both short-term and long-term product vision
Transform low-fidelity concepts into high-fidelity designs while participating in creative brainstorming
Explore innovative questions like "What if a website builder could hear and see?" and "How might an AI website builder work without a chat interface?"—then turn these ideas into high-fidelity concepts
Create interactive prototypes to gather quick customer feedback and iterate on designs. See this for an example of a design prototype
Define Flint's brand identity and design our first marketing website
Contribute to various business functions and help drive our company's growth to the next level
You may be a good fit if...
You have fullstack engineering experience.
You have a lived understanding of using a website builder (e.g. Webflow or Framer) and/or CMS (e.g. Sanity, Contentful, Strapi)
You are flexible and would be down to stretch into brand design
You are interested in AI and are curious to learn more about its capabilities
We are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workplace. So if you’re excited about this role, but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification in this job description – we encourage you to apply anyway!

This is a Figma prototype that shows how Flint can take over marketing workflows. Flint enables heads of marketing to launch experiments end to end on Flint. Flint suggests variants, runs the experiment, analyzes the results, and suggests the next variants to run the experiment on.

Very early prototype of using chat to update a web app live. We do have a current working prototype for a paying customer but had to redact it from the JD for confidentiality reasons.
About the Founder
Michelle (https://www.linkedin.com/in/michlimlim/) was the first software engineer and second employee at Warp, a Sequoia company building an AI terminal for developers. She founded and led all business functions including growth and product and sales, and grew the company from seed to $300M Series B, and to hundreds of thousands of WAUs. She was considered the solo founder’s right-hand person, and was roped in to every board meeting since 2020.
She felt the pain point firsthand. When she led Growth, she was responsible for its marketing site (www.warp.dev), including 3 redesigns and 4 rebuilds and 4 Webflow agencies. She experienced firsthand the pain of maintaining a marketing site as a company scales. She saw the pain from the POV of non-technical staff who were disempowered from launching new campaigns and posts. As an engineer, she felt the pain of debugging within the Webflow framework. As the marketing leader, she felt the pain of relying external contractors and agencies for critical launches and campaigns.
