Front End Developer

We use controlled-environment technology to mimic a multitude of conditions to allow plants, fungi and microorganisms to grow faster and better.On Earth, we are pioneering molecular and bio-farming, boosting production of nutrients, metabolites and bioactive compounds in plants while providing a sustainable and safe source of plant materials. Our customers are large beauty, perfume, natural ingredients, food&beverage and neutraceuticals companies. 

To advance space exploration, we work with space agencies and private companies and provide them bio-farming units to grow efficiently food for astronaut and/or conduct research on impact of microgravity on plant molecular composition.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Interstellar Lab software team is building highly reliable systems for the control & monitoring of our products all around the world. Our software suite is fully integrated, from data collection in embedded devices up to web applications in the cloud bridging into a single workflow IT and OT development. We are looking for a qualified Front-end developer to join our software team. You will be developing the ‘client-side’ of our web applications allowing user to monitor and control their products.If you’re interested in creating a user-friendly environment by writing clean code and moving forward in your career, then this job is for you. We expect you to be a tech-savvy professional, who is curious about new digital technologies and aspires to combine usability with visual design.

RESPONSABILITIES

  • Developing the frontend of our applications

  • Maintain and improve existing code

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed

  • Design mobile-based features

  • Collaborate with back-end developers and web designers to improve usability

  • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers

  • Write functional requirement documents and guides

  • Create quality mockups and prototypes

  • Help back-end developers with coding and troubleshooting

  • Ensure high quality graphic standards and brand consistency

  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies

PROFILE

  • 0 to 3 years of professional experiences in software development with a bachelor's degree in computer science 

  • Proven work experiences as a Front-end developer

  • Hands on experience with HTML and CSS languages

  • Experience with TypeScript, ReactJS, ViteJS, SCSS, Framer Motion

  • Familiarity with browser testing and debugging

  • In-depth understanding of the entire web development process (design, development and deployment)

  • Understanding of layout aesthetics

  • An ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience in data visualisation design (e.g.: dashboards, time series, etc.) is a plus

  • Experience with mobile development (React Native + Electron / Prismic) is a plus 

  • Experience with 3D web technology (Three.js / Spline / d3.js) is a plus

SOFTS SKILLS

  • Efficient, learn fast, work fast

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (if possible)

  • Rigorous and proactive mindset

  • Ability to manage unexpected events with tight deadlines
