Mid-Senior Robotics Engineer
We are developing self-learning robotic systems that autonomously learn from human data. We are seeking an entrepreneurial Mid-Senior Robotics Engineer to join our team to develop the core robotics software stack and continuously work with real robots.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Developing motion planning algorithms for industrial robots and mobile robots such as RRT*, RRT Connect, CHOMP, Diffusion Models base planners, etc.
Developing motion control algorithms for industrial robots, mobile robots, and humanoids such as MPC, iLQR, etc.
Implementing support for novel industrial applications such as bin picking, material handling, welding, etc.
Adding support for new industrial robot brands such as Denso, Kawasaki, etc.
Supporting the development of the cloud simulator including collision checking, reachability analysis, motion logs, environment editor, physics simulation, etc.
Traveling across Germany with the startup team to test the developed technology on industry partners’ sites and iteratively improve the software based on user feedback.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:
Assist in developing the computer vision stack using deep learning frameworks.
Train advanced machine learning models and benchmark the solutions.
Position details
Full-time position on-site at our Frankfurt, Germany, headquarters.
Desired skills
The candidate needs to meet the following basic qualifications:
Masters in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3+ years of industrial experience in robotics or a related domain, or
Excellent Bachelors in a similar field with 5+ years of industrial experience, or
Ph.D. in a related field with 2+ years of industrial experience.
Domain knowledge in the basics of robotics such as: rigid body motions, kinematics, dynamics, control theory, optimization, graphs, etc.
Programming experience in C++ with libraries such as Eigen, Boost, etc. and tools such as CMake, etc.
Programming experience in Python with libraries such as Numpy, SciPy, etc.
Experience working with real robots, particularly industrial manipulators such as ABB, KUKA, Universal Robots, Fanuc, Denso, etc.
These additional robotics qualifications will be helpful:
Experience with Robot Learning, Reinforcement Learning or Imitation Learning.
Experience with HTML and Javascript (React.js, Three.js).
Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of German preferred.
Furthermore, knowledge in Computer Vision will be helpful:
Domain knowledge in deep learning and classical computer vision.
Experience with computer vision libraries such as OpenCV and Open3D.
Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
