Web Front-End Developer
Your mission
With immediate effect, we are seeking a talented Web Front-End Developer (m/f/d) for our data science team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing the front-end for our customer portal, focusing on our interactive, cloud-based data visualization and analysis platform.
This is a full-time role, based in the company’s headquarters in Monheim am Rhein in Germany. It comes with the opportunity to work with other sites and external partners around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance our interactive data visualisation and analysis platform: Build and optimise the existing three.js - based platform, delivering intuitive and interactive 3D visualisations
3D Rendering and Visualization: Use Three.js to create dynamic and high-performance 3D visual elements, ensuring efficient rendering of large datasets in various visualization formats (e.g. point clouds, graphs, images).
Integrate with Backend Systems: Collaborate with backend developers to efficiently integrate large data from APIs and databases into the front-end, ensuring real-time updates and smooth performance.
Responsive and Optimized UI: Ensure the platform is responsive, optimizing the performance of both data rendering and overall UI/UX.
Collaborate on Design: Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into functional, engaging user interfaces, with a focus on interactivity and usability.
Maintain and Scale the Platform: Ensure scalability and maintainability of the front-end codebase, enabling future feature expansions and performance improvements.
Testing and Debugging: Write unit and integration tests for the front-end components, ensuring the stability and quality of the platform through continuous testing and debugging.
Your profile
Master degree, or Bachelor degree in computer science or bioinformatics with experience working in an industrial setting
Solid knowledge in JavaScript, HTML and CSS for appealing data visualization
Experience with Three.js is a plus
Experience in developing GPU-intensive applications is also a plus
Accustomed to use version control systems (git), both for own projects as well as a platform for working together in a team
Used to adhere to common documentation standards, ideally also unit testing
Able to work in a fast-paced start-up and collaborative team environment.
Passionate problem solver and creative solution finder.
Self-motivated and autodidactic.
Used to work within tight timelines.
Language: fluent English, German – nice to have
